Being a paralegal is a second career for me. Before becoming a paralegal, I, like many hardworking people in this country, suffered a workplace injury; an equipment malfunction resulted in an injury to my shoulder. The injury was serious enough to impair my ability to lift moderate to heavy weight, which was a major component of my job duties on an assembly line. Since the injury occurred while I was working, I was thrust into the world of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
