JD Power ranks Canadian insurers on auto claim satisfaction

J.D. Power: Canadian drivers give poor grade to insurers for handling of drivable claims

J.D. Power has released its 2015 Canadian Auto Claims Satisfaction study, and it suggests that insurers are driving into a ditch when it comes to customer satisfaction over drivable claims. The study found that Canadian drivers are significantly less satisfied with their auto insurance when it comes to claims in which a damaged car is still drivable.

“Careless” If Not “Deceptive” Expert Opinion Judicially Criticized

In today’s case (Hendry v. Ellis) the Plaintiff was injured in a collision and sued for damages.  THe Defendant hired a doctor who minimized the connection between the Plaintiff’s complaints and the collision.  At trial, through cross examination, the doctor made various admissions beyond the borders of the opinion contained in the report.  In criticizing the physician’s opinion as “careless” if not outright “deceptive”
